Take note that these knife sharpening sanding belts are 3/4 inch wide and 12 inches long. They fit the Work Sharp KEN ONION EDITION knife sharpener just right. Check the image of the KEN ONION EDITION sharpener, it takes a different sized belt than other Work Sharp knife sharpeners. Take a minute to make sure that you are getting the correct sanding belts, and save yourself some unnecessary problems later. There are a total of 45 sanding belts included with this set, from very rough grit, that you might use on your hatchet or ax, to extremely fine grit, that you could definitely use to very finely polish the edge of your favorite kitchen or hunting or fishing knife. While I appreciate that there is a nice selection of belts from which to choose, I with the belts were more clearly marked as to how "rough" or "smooth" their actual grinding or polishing surfaces are. For example, some belts have printing on the inside of the belt, like: "Aluminum Oxide A320." I'm guessing that this is 320 grit. However, other belts have printing on the inside like: "A16," with no other printing than arrows indicating the direction in which the belts should turn on the sharpener. Well ... WHAT grinding or polishing surface is "A16?" I have other sanding belts for my Ken Onion knife sharpener, and they seem to have the same inconsistent markings on them. What I have come to do is check on the box, or on this Amazon listing, eyeball the bands closely, figure out which ones are which, and label each sanding belt on the inside with a permanent marker. Also, in checking my other sanding belts, some of them DO have an arrow, indicating the direction in which the belt should be moving for optimum performance, and some do not. I see that at least some of the Tockrop belts also have arrows printed on the inside of the bands. So pay attention to these arrows when you change out the bands from your sharpener. The more coarse bands in this set have ceramic grit, the medium grit belts have either zirconia or alumina grit, the fine belt has silicone carbide grit, and the ultra-fine belts have pyramid alumina grit. You'll have to experiment with these belts to see which grit sharpens your particular knives or tools best. Just start with the more "coarse" belts to cut the edge properly, and work your way up to the smoother belts. The softer steel on cheaper kitchen knives will be easier to sharpen, but will lose their edge more quickly. The harder steel on more expensive knives will be more difficult to sharpen, and will definitely require more patience and attention. But they will hold their edge longer.I have two different sets of sharpening belts for my Ken Onion knife sharpener, now, but neither of these sets have the "ultra-fine" belts that are included with the Tockrop set. I'll be glad to have extra spare belts, as I've offered my knife sharpening "services" to friends and family. And I can't wait to strap on that ultra-fine belt and see what I can do with MY favorite knives.

This is a pretty good deal because you get 5 belts each of various grits (so 45 total) for your Ken Onion 3/4 sharpener sanding belt. The coarseness goes from a coarse 80 grit to a finer 5000 grit so there should be a belt that will work for whatever you need to sharpen. Another review mentioned that the coarseness/smoothness isn't clear as all the belts aren't labeled in detail so keep that in mind when selecting the belt to use.

These are great belts. The one problem I had with my Work Sharp Knife Sharpener was that the belts were a hassle to buy. Now that they have kits like this available on Amazon, Im a very happy knife nerd. I have bigger and better, but when I need to, the Work Sharp will match sharpness with any of my more professional tools. This full kit of belt grits is great, it gives many options on sharpening my customer and my knives.
