Very easy to wind small balls of wool and place on the yarn holder. Hang on wrist or a clip on your knitting bag.

I asked my brother-in-law to test this item, as he knits and crotchets regularly, whereas I only dabble. First impressions were that this was a useful item, which made it easier for the yarn to unravel. He liked the different designs and colours of the cradle and the straps, although did find that the ball of wool snagged a little on the laser cut wood. He initially used the straps to hang off his wrist and the item worked well. The strap was comfortable enough, but after a while of the item (plus wool) hanging on his wrist, he felt it got a bit uncomfortable. That’s not to say the strap couldn’t be hung off something else close by. All-in-all a good item and not a gimmick.

[I received this product for free, in exchange for an honest review, as part of the Amazon Vine programme. That being said, this review is NOT swayed by that, and (as always) contains only my real thoughts on the product; good and bad.]I requested the ‘cimsfcor 5 Pcs Portable Wrist Yarn Holder, Wooden Yarn Holder for Knitting Crocheting’ to use when crocheting. The yarn holders are well made, laser cut plywood, very good quality. Each has a pretty design and colour scheme. The faux leather wrist straps are also good quality and compliment the colours of the design on the holders. They slot together well, and can easily be taken apart for storage purposes. They look like they will last a long time. The yarn holders work by spinning the yarn around as you use it to crochet, in my case. Previously my yarn would be beside me, I would feel resistance and have to stop and turn the ball of wool over to free the yarn. The yarn runs freely on the holders, so I don’t need to stop anymore. They take away the resistance making it easier and quicker to crochet. I must admit I attach my yarn holder to a task light (floor lamp), which is beside me. I found this easier than having it suspended from my wrist. Another great thing about them is that they will hold cakes of yarn and balls of wool in many sizes, they are not limited to a maximum size. For the price of £13.99 (less 24% currently on offer), at the time of this review, they are astonishingly good value and would make lovely gifts for friends and family. I am delighted with them and happy to recommend them, 5 stars.
