The markings on the stem make it very easy to line up your bars just right (OK, the center line marking could be a little more obvious - it's just a little dot but it's there). The "no gap" upper bolt is SO much easier than trying to match a gap top and bottom, and having the torque specs right next to the bolts eliminates having to look anything up. Well done Funn!

Beyond weight savings or dramatic changes in reach or rise, most stems do what the were designed to do. Hold on to the handlebars and keep them connected to the steerer tube. A pretty boring chunk of metal for the most part. However, if you are looking for some added style or need a new stem due to failure or building a new bike, there are definitely good reasons to consider the Funn Equalizer stem.I used this to replace a factory stem that came on my MTB with basically the same specs albeit with a lot less style than this one affords. Weight was about the same between the two and overall functionality is unchanged so far as I can tell. One advantage that the FUNN stem has is that it has very nice markings and torque specs printed on it's surface. This makes it very easy to install and the hash marks aid in getting this lined up just right. Additionally, I like that the one side of the bar clamps are intended to be flush. Other types, included the one I replaced, require some more finesse when bolting everything down as you need to incrementally tighten all the bolts in an alternating pattern to avoid having disproportionate gaps on the top of bottom.Style is certainly subjective but, I think Funn does a good job of adding a little flair with some bits of color and brand markings without being overly loud. I'm pretty boring and the bike I fitted this to is silver so I ended up with the black / gray style but the others seem nice if you prefer a bit more of a flourish.Beyond the above mentioned points, this is a nice stem. It isn't the lightest but certainly no where near as chubby as more budget options. It works well and seems very well made. Packaged in a no frills easily recycled box (definite points for this) without any unnecessary packaging or plastic. It also includes a carbon fiber spacer should you need it. You might miss it as it is tucked into one flap of the box. To that point, make sure you have the right spacers necessary if this is replacing a stem with different dimensions. In summation, this stem is very nice and assuming it suits your dimension and style requirements, well worth trying. I'm very pleased with it and it further cements my general notion that Funn makes pretty good gear.
