I just received these today, so, I cannot speak on the durability of this product. But I can report that these are wonderful tools for pencil/graphite drawing. I am sure they would be great for charcoal, as well. After experimenting with these, I find that the results surpass those from using just blending stumps and tortillions. They create a very smooth surface and transitions. I used the largest foam blender to create a sky and an eraser to create billowing clouds within that sky. I am overjoyed that I found this product. I hope they stay intact, but only time will tell. For now, I am very pleased with my purchase and hope to try with charcoal and tinted paper soon. I would recommend these for pencil artist, for sure.

I won't give any product 5 stars unless it deserves it, this deserves it. At least, from my initial impressions, it does.Durability is something that only time can tell, so that's that. These are soft, not so spongy that you can't get a good amount of pressure on it, it's just really adjustable from hardly anything, to the graphite's darkness/shade. I only have 1 kind of graphite powder, and that gets it really soft and smooth looking, but this brush doesn't really have control over how dark your graphite is, it's only going to get so dark. Same with charcoal, I assume, I have some charcoal on the way, I will see how that works. I have no doubt that the charcoal won't work, it's just I am not sure how dark it can get. (It's been years and years since I have tried charcoal, and I hated it then, but again, we'll see)Also, I wanted them THIS month, not a month from now, this took 2 days to get here, all of the others it was going to be 'around 30 days' or so before it was shipped. The 2 day shipping was the main reason I chose this brand. The prices are all about the same.I will say that when searching for a good brush, I read a lot of reviews where it was just too soft and even some that said that the foam fell off. I do not feel that this is going to fall off, and it's not "too soft".I am pretty happy with this brand and so far, I recommend it, and if anything happens good or bad, I will be back to tell that story. I am glad that I got this brand, I have no idea why I was not aware that these existed.(I haven't drawn for around 20 years, so that would be a big part of the 'why')
