I'm not sure is there was some kind of mix up with my order, but when it arrived I was very sad to find out it wasn't real shungite at all. Instead, I'm guessing it is a light plastic-like resin. I actually went and bought the exact same necklace from my local crystal shop and brought this one in to compare. The differences were obvious in the weight and feel of the two crystals, even though they looked the same at a glance. To further verify the authenticity, we did a simple conductivity test (real shungite conducts electricity very well, even polished) and the necklace I ordered here did not conduct electricity, but the other one at the crystal shop did.I'd like to believe this was just one off piece that may have gotten mixed up in a batch of authentic ones. Either way, be vigilant with your online crystal purchases.

I was skeptical about shungite's purported ability to block electromagnetic fields. I had read the book Shungite by Regina Martino, but I still wasn't convinced. It seemed to good to be true. So I went onto pubmed and started researching this unique stone. Sure enough, there are clinical reports attesting to its EMF-blocking ability. I ordered this pendant from Russia. The delivery was surprisingly fast, the craftsmanship is very nice. The stone itself is beautiful. The cord is adjustable. I wear mine over my heart. Soon, I noticed that my ears were ringing less when I was exposed to magnetic fields. I even put it to a test. My refrigerator gives off terrible dirty electricity when it cycles, and my favorite reading chair and on the other side of the wall from the refrigerator, right in the electromagnetic field. One night, I put on the shungite pendant while sitting there in the EM field, and the ringing in my ears was instantly dampened. I took it off, the ringing returned. Put it back on, ringing got better. I want to buy more from this company!

Really not worth the money charged. Very flimsy. Will have to replace the string as it's the thinnest I've ever encountered and won't last the month. The crystal is also much thinner than expected. I've had better, cheaper, put it that way.As someone who work a lot with crystal I can say that this is a crystal rip off. Move on and find a better deal.
